Have you ever thought about what you want to do after graduating? I’ve always had my family to help me look at different careers and gave me a lot of support. My family has always been a big influence on what I want to do in the future and how I made my plan to do it.

How I got interested in being a registered nurse is because a lot of my aunts are nurses or caregivers. I grew up close to all of them so I seen them going to college and pursuing their careers and always wanted to do the same. All of my aunts are nurses so I grew up hearing all their stories and how work went and got a real interest in it. A lot of people think that since nursing runs in my family that I have to work in the same field but I genuinely want to.None of the stories they’ve told me have scared me off yet but just make me that much more interested to take the chance and follow their steps.I am excited to have good days and bad days with all different kinds of people. My family also has helped me look into schools for nursing. They don’t just come and tell me their stories and tell me about their days they help me get involved. They told me about all the school I could apply to, how I would get there, and how long I would be there.

Having all the support that I get helps me stay motivated to stay on the right track to get where I want to be.My aunt always told me that just having faith and hope isn’t going to get you anywhere you need to get up and do the work. That always stuck in my head because it’s real, you can really want something but can’t expect for it to just be handed to you. You need to put in the work. Are you willing to put in the work to get what you want for yourself ?
